Mud pits and meditation huts?
Dear all,
I've just celebrated Chinese New Year in another country and had a great time.
However, during that time I still thought of the guest speaker at the PD I went to in September who told me about his school that he started up in that country where he and his staff created alternative methods of developing curriculum.
Mud pits and meditation huts! His ideas were fantastic and drove me to believe that maybe one day we shall all get past the exam driven curriculum that international schools (any curriculum really) has become and finally focus on the development of the child. It may even get them to produce better outcomes!
Ok, yes the corporate world needs people who are focussed on the mighty dollar, however we need so many other professions today that save lives, create and deliver needs and not wants.
Look out for these schools that are providing alternative curriculums for both local and expat children. Most school websites provide their curriculums and co-curriculums so that you can get a better guide as to what they provide.
You may just step outside of the box and 100% love it!
Cheers,
HB
