The Christmas Conundrum

Her real life dilemma......................
The Christmas Conundrum
So here’s the problem. We are a couple of empty nesters living in Hong Kong. Our offspring are both in their 20’s and happily enjoying being hard working uni students back in Australia. We have various parents, also in Australia, who are all around the 80 year mark (and still travelling the world – Hong Kong, Iran and India in the last 2 years – yes they are 80+) along with a significant number of siblings and their offspring as well.
Last Christmas, after a diversion to Australia for the graduation of child number 1’s first degree, the husband and I spent the Christmas holidays in Venice with a side trip for Christmas Day to Rome where we had Chrissy lunch at a restaurant at the Pantheon with friends from Abu Dhabi (a Kiwi and Yank). It was fun – but we did miss the children (i.e. the 6 foot 3 - 20 year old boy and the 6 foot 23 year old daughter).
Our problem is this Christmas – we have the opportunity to go to Santorini (on a house swap – look into them – they are great) with the chance of time in Athens. What to do – what to do…..
Option 1: Go to Santorini and Athens on our own (and miss the children).
Option 2: Go back to Australia and spend the break travelling between Sydney, Darwin, Emerald (Qld) and Brisbane to see all family members.
Option 3: Fly the children to Santorini to have Christmas with us (their various romantic attachments can come but at their own expense)
What would you do?
HB says: Well princess you got your answer! I got another email from Juanita......
"Juanita got her answer":
It is too cold in Santorini in the winter and everything closes – so we will try to go in July instead – thus no need to worry about missing children and various family members during the Christmas season – such a first world dilemma!!!!
and with that we all lived happily ever after!
Thanks Juanita!
Cheers,
HB
