Meeting extraordinary people

I have said a number of times to my students and other people in my life that you can be a victim or a victor. Mui is a victor, a survivor and this morning she became my hero.

It was my honour to meet this extraordinary young woman as Mui and her parents came to speak at my school. They told her story about growing up with her rare disease harlequin itchyosis and the intolerance that all it brought with it.

No words can do her justice, she's a champion and I came away from her family's presentation a little wiser about the world. I'm not going to tell her story because she does it best.
